30 km/h

The Campaign’s new 30 km/h Action Group has started work. We want to achieve a reduction in speeds to improve cycling and walking by campaigning for a default 30 km/h in built-up areas. To start we are seeking 30 km/h limits in residential areas and on busy streets, starting in Dublin City Council area and then spreading out to the other Dublin Local Authorities.

We need a slogan so please put on your thinking hats for a catchy slogan. We love the UK’s “20’s Plenty” slogan but need to come up with something different that fits in with km/h. If you have any bright ideas please contact Mairéad Forsythe at mforsythe@eircom.net

We will be asking other relevant organisations to join forces with us so that we can have a speed limit campaign that has its own identity. Please give your suggestions for potential allies to Mairéad at above email.

Work is under way on a county-wide review of speed limits in South Dublin. If you live in South Dublin, please contact the Council and tell them where and why you want lower speed limits in your area.
