Public Consultation on Bus Rapid Transit - Swords/Airport to City Centre

The NTA (National Transport Authority) have sought Public Consultation on the proposed Swiftway Bus Rapid Transit – Swords/Airport to City Centre.

The designs and plans will significantly change cycling in Dublin city centre and along the specific routes from Swords to Merrion Square. This project will bring about very important changes for cycling in the city and we need to be involved.

There are many changes that will make it easier to cycle segregated both ways along multi lane one way streets and potential uplift the quality of life for walking and cycling in the city.

As much as we welcome many of the improvements, our initial concerns are around the integration at bus stops and join ups at busy junctions. We will be reviewing the designs closely.

We would like to gather your comments to include in our submission from the Dublin Cycling Campaign. We welcome all comments and criticisms of both a positive and negative nature. Please get in touch by emailing us on info@dublincycling.ie

There are more details and design documents on their website. http://www.nationaltransport.ie/consultations/public-consultation-on-swi…
