The Pyro Blues Executive formed a year and half ago, after a long association. They began playing every Monday in the Leeson Lounge, playing mostly a version of New Orleans R’n’B with a classic rock twist, sandwiched with swing, Rock’n’Roll, Soul, Funk, Blues and Rap of all eras. Their sets consists of radical reworkings of well known R’n’B standards which segue into lengthy improvisations that can switch from a blues jazz crescendo, into a funk dervish, or from a psychedelic freak out, to a country boogie twist, into a dark ascension of Wagnerian majesty. This band features some the best musicians Ireland has ever produced.

The Pyro Blues Executive are:
James Delaney: keys. James has played with Sharon Shannon, Van Morrison, Paul Brady, Chuck Berry, Andrew Strong
Pat Farrell: Lead guitar (The Business, Red Peters). Pat had shared stages with B.B. King, Jeff Healy, John Primer and Carlos Johnson.
Podge: bass. (Republic of Loose)
Noel Bridgeman: drums. Noel was a founding member of Skid Row, one of the most important Irish rock bands, whose members included Gary Moore, Phil Lynott and Brush Shields. He has also recorded with Van Morrison, Steve Earle, Sharon Shannon and has played with Mary Black and many other legendary Irish artists.
Mick Pyro: guitar & vocals, Mick is a member of Republic of Loose who have had three top ten albums in Ireland, and one reaching number 2. He has supported U.2., The Roots, Ian Brown, The Neville Brothers, Guns n Roses, Snow Patrol and the New York Dolls. and has Co- produced a track for Sinead O, Connor and has also appeared with her on stage several times.
