Willow Workshop Weekend!

Saturday, 24 October 2015 (All day)
Redhills, County Kildare

Dublin Cycling Campaign and the bicycle crew had the pleasure of working with Beth from Willow Wonder at the recent Electric Picnic festival. Beth ran a fabulous workshop for us on weaving and creating bicycle baskets from willow grown by her very self!

If you are looking for something a little different to do this autumn, with both an arboreal and bicycle theme, you might like to partake in one of Beth’s Willow Workshop weekends. They take place in her place in Redhills, County Kildare, on the weekend of 24th/25th October and again on 14th/15th November 2015. Each weekend kicks off with a visit to the willow beds, learning how to plant and harvest them, looking at the different types of willow and understanding which ones are used for what (including bicycle baskets!) - all before getting stuck into being trained up in the techniques required to work independently on basket making.

Prices for the course include homemade soup using vegetables grown in Beth’s garden as well as plenty of bread, cakes, tea and coffee to keep you sustained! Beth also has space for camping if that’s your cup of tea!

More details are in the poster attached or visit the website below. Beth can be contacted on 087-6462528.
