The Liffey Cycle Route project has been running since 2012. The Quays regularly carry over 1000 cyclist per hour at peak times.
The long-awaited – we mean really long, the NTA started funding designs in 2013!
The Campaign made a submission to Dublin City Council about their plans for interim cycle facilities on East Wall and Alfie Byrne Roads.

The proposal for interim cycle safety measures along the Liffey Quays was approved, with cross-party support, by councillors at last Monday’s Dublin City Council meeting in City Hall.

A trial of the Liffey Cycle Route could go ahead this summer, according to Dublin City Council executives, but would require private motor traffic to be banned from some sections of Dublin’s Quays.
A major protest will take place along Dublin’s Liffey Quays this Sunday to highlight the ongoing delays in developing the proposed Liffey Cycle Route.

LIFFEY CYCLE ROUTE CONSULTATION
Work to Upgrade the cycle track on Memorial Bridge (South East Corner) will commence tomorrow 24th of May. Works should be ongoing until June 21st approximately.
