Have your say on cycle lanes in Stillorgan
What is this?
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council want to know the public’s view on the stretch of Lower Kilmacud Road from Kilmacud Crokes entrance to the Scout Hall/Fruitworld. We, at Dublin Cycling Campaign, through the DLR Cycling Advocacy Group, are making a submission to DLR to make the case for increased and improved cycling provision.
Are there cycle lanes planned?
The draft plans show some cycle lanes (paint) and some cycle tracks (raised with a curb).
How can the plans change?
If a strong combination of interest groups (us) and community members (you) make the case for better provision for cycling on Lower Kilmacud Road.
What can I do? (2 minute option)
Go here and say that you support adding cycle tracks. Give some brief background about why you care: you live in the area, you shop in Stillorgan, your kids cycle there, you would like your kids to cycle there (e.g. to Kilmacud Crokes). You want all tracks to be separated from the road with a curb and a physical buffer (e.g. grass verge). You want all cycle tracks to go in behind the bus stops so that buses don’t mix with you when you’re cycling. Deadline for feedback is today (Friday, 22nd March) so don’t wait.
What can I do? (more time on my hands)
Have a read of our submission (linked at the bottom) and the DLR plan. Write a more detailed response with inspiration from our submission. Go here to let DLR know your response.
