Dublin Park(ing) Day 2013
Dublin Park(ing) Day 2013 is back!
Dublin Park(ing) Day is taking place at various locations around Dublin City on Friday 20st of September 2013 from 10:00am - 5:30pm.
Park(ing) Day is a global event which transforms on-street car parking spaces into public open spaces for one day. Car parking spaces around the city – from Arbour Hill to Portobello and right through the city centre – will be converted into temporary public parks.
The purpose is to create awareness of sustainable travel and the need for more public open space in urban areas. It aims to promote healthy cities by engaging with the public through temporary art. Consistently the cities with the most liveable streets are rated as the best cities to live and do business in. Good quality public spaces also make people healthier and happier. Dublin Park(ing) Day event is supported by Dublin City Council and the LifeLine Project, and partners include LeCool and Dublin Cycling Campaign.
Once again this year, the Dublin Cycling Campaign has a most important site - opposite The Passport Office on Molesworth Street.
