Screening: Why We Cycle - Dutch Film

Monday, 11 June 2018 (All day)
Wood Quay Venue, Dublin City

This one hour long inspirational film explores Dutch cycling culture. The film makers take a ride with ordinary cyclists and specialists from a variety of disciplines. These conversations uncover some obvious, but even more hidden effects of cycling on people, on societies, and on the organization of cities.

The film was produced by Dutch filmmakers Gertjan Hulster and Arne Gielen, journalist Jeroen Dirks and the Urban Cycling Institute‘s academic director Marco te Brömmelstroet. When interviewed by bikebiz.com, Brömmelstroet said that the film could be used by cycle advocates to “know what to ask from your politicians and why you should start fighting for such a future.”

The screening will commence at 7pm sharp and will be followed by an open discussion on how to make Dublin a great cycling city.
