A review of the past year and look to the future. The Annual General Meeting is a great opportunity for new people to get involved in the Campaign and to help change the city for the better.
A draft outline of the agenda for the AGM is as follows:
Welcome to all / Introductory Words
Overview of the last 12 months of cycle campaigning (Dublin + Ireland & European levels)
On Sunday May 1st to launch the European Cycling Challenge (#ecc2016eu) for Dublin, the Dublin Cycling Campaign welcomes you to join us on a short city centre cycle along the Grand Canal Cycleway.
Assemble near the Grand Canal Theatre and the Marker Hotel from 10:30am for departure at 11:00am.
Dublin Cycling Campaign and the bicycle crew had the pleasure of working with Beth from Willow Wonder at the recent Electric Picnic festival. Beth ran a fabulous workshop for us on weaving and creating bicycle baskets from willow grown by her very self!
Velo-city is the fabulous cycling planning conference run annually by the European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF). This year it took place in Nantes in France at the beginning of June with over 1500 delegates from 80 countries attending. Four representatives from Cyclist.ie, the member for Ireland of ECF, took the time to head over - Dr. Mike McKillen, Colm Ryder, Damien Ó Tuama and Catherine Swift.
Dublin Cycling Campaign’s 2015 Christmas Party takes place (instead of our usual monthly meeting) on Monday 14th December.
If you haven’t been to our seasonal party before, then you need to come this year! It’s a friendly and sociable evening and you can catch up with other Campaign members and the wider cycling community on the night.
Bike Week is a celebration and promotion of all that’s great about bikes and cycling. Held over a week in June of each year with bike themed events organised by local authorities, community groups and cycling groups throughout Ireland.
The lecture is organised by the Phizzfest Reimagining Phibsborough campaign, towards pedestrian, cyclist and environmental improvements in the village and surrounding areas.
To a take a break from our (pretty much non-stop!) campaigning work, Dublin Cycling Campaign’s social events crew wishes to let all of our members know (at very short notice!) that we’re heading to see the fabulous Pyro Blues Executive who are playing in JJ Smiths on Saturday 14th February (full details below). All are very welcome to join us!
